Wiring Diagrams

Notices:

  • Motor Requirements

The user must have an electric roller shutter at home and will need to retrofit it to upgrade it to a smart roller shutter.
① The motor used for the electric roller shutter must have a current of less than 1A.
② Motor power supply: AC (100~240V).
The motor shall be a 4-wire or 5-wire AC motor (including neutral, forward, reverse, and ground wires) with a built-in forward/reverse rotation limiter.

  • Installation Location

① Since the device needs to be connected to the motor and can be used with a physical switch, it is recommended to reserve a switch junction box near the existing electric roller shutter for installation.
② Wall junction box requirements: This product is compatible with the standard 60 junction box at a minimum size, but when installing, it is important to consider whether the depth of the junction box can accommodate the additional wiring.

The depth of the mounting box should be at least 60mm. In case the existing wall box is not deep enough, you can try to use a surface-mounted or ultra-thin wall switch to control the Relay.

  • To ensure the safety of your electrical installation, it's essential that either a Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) or a Residual Current operated Circuit-breaker with Integral Overcurrent protection(RCBO) with an electrical rating of 1A has been installed before the MINI-ZBRBS.

WARNING

Please install and maintain the device by a professional electrician. To avoid electric shock hazards, do not operate any connection or contact the terminal connector while the device is powered on!

Third-party Platform

The user can perform the calibration operation using the device button. If there is any deviation in the calibration result, the calibration can be repeated until the desired accuracy is achieved.

Method 1(Automatic calibration)

① Press and hold the device button for more than 10 seconds until the LED indicator enters breathing mode. The device will then automatically control the motor for calibration.

FAQ

1. What types of curtain motors are supported by MINI-ZBRBS?

The motors supported by the device for control are general 4-wire AC motors and 5-wire AC motors (with zero wire, motor forward line, motor reverse line, and ground line), as long as the load does not exceed 1A.

2. Can I schedule the curtain to open or close at specific times?

Yes. You can create timer schedules through the eWeLink app for automatic curtain operation.

3. Do I need to modify my existing wall switch for installation?

No major modifications are needed. The compact design fits into standard wall boxes and can work with your existing mechanical switch.

4. Does the device function as a Zigbee repeater?

Yes, MINI-ZBRBS has built-in Zigbee signal repeater functionality to help improve and stabilize your Zigbee network coverage.

5. Can the motor run continuously in the same direction?

No. The motor should not operate in a single direction for more than 2 minutes. To prevent overheating and damage, the device will automatically enter a stop state after exceeding this time limit.

6. Can the device be used without connecting a "Switch"?

Yes. Whether S1/S2 are connected to an external switch or not, it does not affect automation or app control functionality.

Troubleshooting

1. Unable to add the device to the Zigbee hub

Check if the device is powered and the indicator light is responsive.

Press and hold the reset button for ≥5 seconds to enter pairing mode.

Ensure the Zigbee hub is within range and in pairing mode.

Try restarting the hub and reattempting the pairing process.

2. The curtain cannot be controlled via the app

Check the motor wiring and ensure the connected load does not exceed 1A.

Make sure the Zigbee network is stable, or try re-pairing the device.

3. The curtain opens/closes in the wrong direction

Use the app’s Motor Rotation Direction to correct movement.

Alternatively, swap the motor's "up" and "down" wire terminals.

4. The device frequently goes offline or responds slowly

Check for Zigbee interference or signal obstacles.

Avoid installing the device inside metal wall boxes.

Add more Zigbee routers/repeaters to strengthen network coverage.

5. The curtain does not fully open or close

Calibrate the upper and lower curtain limits through automatic calibration or manual calibration.

6. The switch control behaves differently than expected

Quickly press the button on the MINI-ZBRBS three times until the blue LED flashes rapidly three times.

*Repeat this up to two times if needed to find the correct "Switch Mode."
