1. Remove the top cover
Use a metal pry piece to press down at the notch (Fig. ①), then pry upwards (Fig. ②), and finally separate the top cover from the bottom case (Fig. ③).

3. Magic Switch Mode:
Note: ①Requirements for realizing the function (connecting L1/L2). ②Only compatible with mainstream brands of double pole rocker switches Rocker switches. The rear-end light needs to be compatible with mainstream brands of LED, energy-saving lamps, and incandescent lamps ranging from 3W to 100W. ③This function also applies to dual-control lamps. |
After short-circuiting the L1 and L2 of the switch terminals through the wires, the device can still be online and can be controlled through the App after the users flip the wall switch to turn off/on the light.
• This feature is currently supported only within the eWeLink ecosystem and is not compatible with other platforms at this time.
• Add a wire to connect L1 to L2 on the wall switch following the manual, and the device will stay online even when you switch it off via the wall switch after "Magic Switch Mode" enabled.
• The "Power-on State" will automatically be set to OFF, to make the "Magic Switch Mode" functional when enabled.
• The "Magic Switch Mode" will automatically disable after your adjustment to the "Power-on State".

Troubleshooting
1. Unable to pair with Wi-Fi
Make sure your mobile device and BASIC Gen5 are on the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
Make sure the device is in pairing mode.
2. BASIC Gen5 paired but cannot be controlled remotely
Ensure your phone has internet access.
Make sure the router is connected to the internet.
Check that the device LED is steady (indicating successful connection to the server).
If still not working, restart your router and the device, or try re-pairing.
3. BASIC Gen5 shows as offline in the app
Check if the device has power.
Ensure Wi-Fi coverage is stable and strong.
If the device is too far from the router, try relocating it or using a Wi-Fi extender.
4. Button/LED not responding
Confirm that the device is powered.
If unresponsive, try a factory reset (press and hold the button for 10 seconds).
If the issue persists, it may be a hardware failure—please contact after-sales support.
5. Can't control BASIC Gen5 from the voice assistant
Make sure the device appears and is controllable in your Matter hub app.
Re-link the service in your assistant app.
Check if the Internet is working properly.
