FAQ
1. What type of junction box is the Orb-ZBRBS compatible with?
2. Can the motor run continuously in the same direction?
No. The motor should not operate in a single direction for more than 2 minutes. To prevent overheating and damage, the device will automatically enter a stop state after exceeding this time limit.
3. Can two or more curtain motors be connected in parallel and controlled synchronously through the Orb-ZBRBS?
No. Due to individual differences in each motor, even if the operating time is the same, the travel distance may not be consistent, making synchronous control impossible.
4. Does the device function as a Zigbee repeater?
Yes, Orb-ZBRBS has built-in Zigbee signal repeater functionality to help improve and stabilize your Zigbee network coverage.
5. Why can't the Orb-ZBRBS perform "automatic calibration" for the curtain motor?
If the motor power is too small, or the curtain type is not a roller blind, roller shutter, or projection screen, it may cause "automatic calibration" to fail. It is recommended to switch to "manual calibration" mode.
6. Does Orb-ZBRBS require a neutral wire?
Yes. Orb-ZBRBS requires a neutral wire for proper installation and operation.
Troubleshooting
1. Unable to add the device to the Zigbee hub.
Check if the device is powered and the indicator light is responsive.
Press and hold the reset button for ≥5 seconds to enter pairing mode.
Ensure the Zigbee hub is within range and in pairing mode.
Try restarting the hub and reattempting the pairing process.
2. The curtain cannot be controlled via the app.
Check the motor wiring and ensure the connected load does not exceed 1A.
Make sure the Zigbee network is stable, or try re-pairing the device.
3. The curtain opens/closes in the wrong direction.
Use the app’s Motor Rotation Direction to correct movement.
Alternatively, swap the motor's "up" and "down" wire terminals.
4. The device frequently goes offline or responds slowly.
Check for Zigbee interference or signal obstacles.
Avoid installing the device inside metal wall boxes.
Add more Zigbee routers/repeaters to strengthen network coverage.
5. The curtain does not fully open or close.
Calibrate the upper and lower curtain limits through automatic calibration or manual calibration.
