FAQ
- Which Zigbee sub-devices are supported?
All SONOFF devices using the Zigbee protocol are supported, and some of them support Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware update capability. - How to create a local scene?
When creating a smart scene in the eWeLink APP, if both the trigger device and the action device are Zigbee sub-devices already paired with ZBBridge-P, the scene will be a local scene. - How many sub-devices can be added to the gateway?
Maximum number of directly connected devices: 10
Maximum total number of devices: 128, achievable by adding router devices - Does a local scene require Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi is required during the setup of a local scene.
After setup, the local scene can run independently even if the Wi-Fi is disconnected or the router is powered off. - How can I reset the ZBBridge-P to factory settings?
- Press and hold the pairing button for 10 seconds until the Wi-Fi LED flashes rapidly.
- Release the button; the device will reset and enter pairing mode.
- After reset, re-pair the bridge with the eWeLink app and reconnect all Zigbee devices.
Troubleshooting
- Why can't I add sub-devices?
If you fail to add sub-devices, try the following steps:
(1) Confirm the sub-device is supported and is in pairing mode. Keep it close to the gateway during pairing.
(2) Check if the Wi-Fi network is functioning properly. Retry after the network is stable.
(3) Go to the gateway settings > More Settings > check the current Zigbee channel signal quality. Switch to a better-performing channel if needed.
(4) You may have reached the Zigbee device limit. Delete one end device , and add a router device to expand the device limit.
(5) Try resetting the gateway by long-pressing the pairing button for 10 seconds (this will erase all sub-devices and smart scenes).
(6) If none of the above work, the issue may be due to non-standard Zigbee implementations on third-party sub-devices or brand-level compatibility restrictions. - OTA update failed?
Please check your network status.
Unplug the gateway for 5 minutes, then power it back on and try updating again. - Why sub-devices connected with ZBBridge have no response on the eWeLink APP?
- Check the battery level of the sub-device on APP. If the battery is low, please replace it in time and try again.
- Maybe the sub-device is too far from ZBBridge or your router. To ensure all sub-devices are connected to the self-organizing network (Ad-hoc Network), a plug-in device acted as a ZigBee router is recommended to connect with ZBBridge for transmission range extension, like SONOFF BASICZBR3 or S31 Lite ZB.
