FAQ
- How to check if my valve is suitable for TRVZB?
Please refer to the following document to check valve compatibility:
https://sonoff.tech/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/SONOFF_TRV-Compatibility-Guide-20241202.pdf - What is the battery life of the device?
TRVZB does not come with batteries in the package; you need to purchase three 1.5V AA batteries separately. The device's battery life depends on factors such as battery capacity and usage environment. Ordinary batteries can generally last for more than six months. - The controlled temperature is inaccurate, always too low/high?
Possible causes are as follows:
- The device is installed on a hot water valve, and the temperature measured by the device is easily affected by the water temperature, causing it to be too high. In this case, consider calibrating the temperature value.
- If the thermostatic valve is far from the usual activity area, consider using an external temperature source to detect the target temperature.
- Can rechargeable batteries be used?
AA rechargeable batteries (e.g., nickel-metal hydride) have a voltage of only 1.2V. When three are connected in series, the voltage is slightly higher than the minimum operating voltage of the device, but even fully charged, they cannot maintain long-term use.
Troubleshooting
- Can't turn off the water valve?
Please check if an adapter is used.
If an adapter is used, first verify whether the adapter is suitable. Use tools (do not use hands to avoid scalding) to press the adapter and check if the water valve can be closed completely.
If no adapter is used or the adapter is verified as usable, remove the calibrated device, adjust the temperature, and observe whether the black cylinder at the bottom moves with the heating state switching.
- If the cylinder moves, it may indicate the water valve is incompatible (exceeding the maximum pushing force or distance of the device) or the valve is rusted, making it difficult to push.
- If the cylinder does not move, it may be a valve type not covered by the device's calibration algorithm. Please upgrade the firmware to version 1.1.6 or higher.
- Inaccurate battery level display?
The old firmware has insufficient battery detection accuracy, which may cause abnormal low battery prompts (F4 error) or low battery level reporting. If you encounter this issue, please update to the latest firmware promptly. - ZHA can only adjust the calibration by ±2.5℃ at most?
This is due to an outdated ZHA version that does not support calibration adjustment in the graphical interface. The 2024.3 version of HA has fixed this issue. After updating to an HA version not lower than 2024.3, you can adjust the calibration by ±7℃ via the slider.
