FAQ

1. What is ZBMicro, and what can it do?

ZBMicro is a compact Zigbee USB adaptor with built-in relay and repeater functionality. It enhances Zigbee network coverage, supports USB 2.0 data transfer, and can provide power to USB devices.

2. Can ZBMicro work as a Zigbee coordinator?

No, ZBMicro functions as a Zigbee router/repeater, not a coordinator. It must connect to an existing Zigbee network managed by a coordinator (e.g., via Zigbee dongle on Home Assistant).

3. What kind of devices can I power with ZBMicro?

It can power USB devices like mini fans, night lights, smartphones, smartwatches, and similar low-power electronics. When paired with a fast charging adapter, it supports high-speed charging for mobile devices.

4. Does it support fast charging?

ZBMicro does not support fast charging and must be paired with the original fast-charging adapter and USB cable(QC 3.0, FCP, SCP, PE, AFC, Apple 2.4A).

5. Which smart home platforms does it support?

ZBMicro is compatible with platforms like Home Assistant (ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT) and OpenHAB, allowing flexible integration into your smart home setup.

6. Can I schedule or automate power on/off?

Absolutely. ZBMicro supports timers and automations via your smart home platform to avoid overcharging or to match daily routines.

Troubleshooting

1. ZBMicro is not showing up in my Zigbee network.

Ensure your coordinator is powered on and functioning.

Try re-pairing ZBMicro by pressing the reset button to enter pairing mode.

Check for interference from other 2.4 GHz devices (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).

Make sure you're using a quality USB power adapter.

2. Relay switch not responding remotely.

Confirm the device is still online in your Zigbee network.

Try refreshing or re-interviewing the device in your Zigbee coordinator UI.

Ensure no conflicting automation is overriding manual control.

3. No fast charging when the device is plugged in.

Make sure you’re using a fast-charging USB adapter (36W MAX).

Use a high-quality cable that supports fast charging.

Confirm your adapter supports the fast charging standard used(QC 3.0, FCP, SCP, PE, AFC, Apple 2.4A).

4. The Zigbee signal is still weak in some areas.

Try relocating ZBMicro to a central or elevated position.

Avoid placement near metal surfaces or dense walls.

Add more Zigbee routers to create a mesh network.

5. Abnormal Device Restart

The use of non-original adapters may result in brief power interruptions, leading to device restarts.

When using this device to charge mobile devices such as smartphones is recommended to use the original adapter.
