FAQ
- Are smart plugs compatible with all electrical appliances?
Smart plugs work with most appliances that have a mechanical on/off switch, such as lights, fans, coffee makers, and heaters. - Do smart plugs increase power consumption?
Smart plugs consume an extremely small amount of standby power (usually below 1W). - If the device is disconnected from the Zigbee gateway, does the timer function still work? What if the connected Zigbee gateway loses internet access?
If the device disconnects from the Zigbee gateway, the timer will NOT take effect. However, if the Zigbee gateway itself loses internet connection, the timer will still function.
- Does the device need to be in the same room as Amazon Echo/Google Assistant?
No. The device is bound to the voice assistant through cloud-to-cloud integration. As long as the two accounts are paired and the devices are online, they can be controlled by the voice assistants anywhere.
- Can I plug a power strip into the smart plug?
It is not suggested to connect a power strip to a smart plug. In general, a plug has a smaller maximum load capacity than a power strip. Furthermore, overload devices (for the smart plug) can be easily attached to the power strip without awareness, increasing the risk of product damage.
Troubleshooting
- Why does the device shut off automatically even though I didn't enable "Overload Protection"?
The smart socket's maximum current and power thresholds are always active for safety. If the load exceeds these limits, the device automatically cuts off power to prevent overheating or fire hazards.
- After using the S60ZB to turn off the TV directly connected to it, why can't I use the remote control to turn the TV back on?
Most TVs enter standby mode when turned off with the remote. However, the smart plug (S60ZB) cuts off all power to the TV when it turns it off. Therefore, after powering off with the plug, you should first turn the S60ZB back on before using the TV remote to switch it on.
