FAQ
1. What type of junction box is the Orb-RBS compatible with?
2. Can the motor run continuously in the same direction? No. The motor should not operate in a single direction for more than 2 minutes. To prevent overheating and damage, the device will automatically enter a stop state after exceeding this time limit.
3. Can two or more curtain motors be connected in parallel and controlled synchronously through the Orb-RBS?
No. Due to individual differences in each motor, even if the operating time is the same, the travel distance may not be consistent, making synchronous control impossible.
4. Why does the app show the device as offline after clicking "Enable Pairing Mode"?
After enabling Pairing Mode in the eWeLink app, the device enters Network Pairing Mode (indicated by a "two short, one long" LED pattern) and shows as "Offline." Short-press the device button to restore "Online" status.
5. Why can't the Orb-RBS perform "automatic calibration" for the curtain motor?
If the motor power is too small, or the curtain type is not a roller blind, roller shutter, or projection screen, it may cause "automatic calibration" to fail. It is recommended to switch to "manual calibration" mode.
6. What is Matter, and why is it important?
Matter is a new smart home connectivity standard that enables devices from different brands and ecosystems (like Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, etc.) to work together seamlessly. Orb-RBS supports Matter, allowing easy integration and cross-platform control.
7. Does Orb-RBS require a neutral wire?
Yes. Orb-RBS requires a neutral wire for proper installation and operation.
8. Which apps or ecosystems is Orb-RBS compatible with?
With Matter support, it works with:
- Apple Home
- Google Home
- Amazon Alexa
- Home Assistant
- Samsung SmartThings
