Product Overview
Introduction
Product Name |
Zigbee Water Leak Sensor |
Product Model |
Zigbee Water Leak Sensor is a low-power Zigbee 3.0 protocol-based water leak sensor that detects real-time water leakage in the environment. It allows for work with other devices through scene linkage settings. For instance, placing the sensor in areas like the basement, kitchen, or attic, it will trigger a Gateway sound alarm and send an App notification when water leakage is detected.
Highlights
- Leak & Drip Detection
The elevated probe design detects liquid levels as low as 0.5mm and works reliably on metal surfaces without false triggers. Its concave water collection design quickly senses drips and stops leaks at the source. - Extended Detection Capability
Supports connection with water leak detection cables (sold separately or as part of sensor kits). Whether covering a wide area or a narrow spot, water leaks are detected accurately. Extension cables can be connected in series without length limitation. - Real-time Alerts & Multiple Notifications
Instant app push notifications alert you immediately upon water detection. Zigbee local scenes can trigger gateway alarms even during WiFi outages. - Zigbee 3.0 Compatible
Compatible with Zigbee 3.0 hubs such as SONOFF NSPanel Pro, SONOFF iHost, ZB Bridge variants (ZB Bridge, ZB Bridge-P, ZB Bridge-U), and SmartThings Hub V3. - Home Assistant Support
Easily integrates with Home Assistant via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT (requires Zigbee dongle like SONOFF ZBDongle-P or ZBDongle-E) for seamless home automation.
Applications
- Bathtub overflow detection
- Water heater leak detection
- Basement leakage detection, etc.

Effective Communication Distance Verification
Install the device in the desired place, then press the Pairing button on the device. The LED indicator flashes twice means the device and the device under the same Zigbee network (the router device or hub) are in the effective communication distance.
FAQ
- When the sensor is used with a water immersion cable, how long can the water immersion cables be connected in series?
There is no limit on the length. - Can the water immersion cable be reused?
After the water immersion cable is soaked, it can be reused after being completely dried. - What is the recommended humidity environment for the water immersion cable?
The recommended humidity environment for the A4 water immersion cable is 0~80%RH (without condensation). A very high humidity environment may cause it to be mistaken for the presence of water. - Can a common Type-C extension cable be used to extend between two water-immersion cables?
Yes, but please note that do not use a soaked Type-C extension cable to charge mobile devices.
Troubleshooting
- The Zigbee signal is unstable and the device frequently goes offline?
If your device often goes offline, it could be due to the long distance between the device and the gateway, or obstacles/interference blocking the signal. Try adjusting the placement of your device and gateway, or use additional Zigbee router devices to strengthen your Zigbee network coverage. - Missing features after pairing with the eWeLink app?
Please ensure both your Zigbee gateway and the eWeLink app are updated to the latest version. If the device was added using an outdated gateway firmware, remove the device, update the Zigbee gateway, and then re-add the device.
